Dr. Kara Paat
Dr. Paat was born and raised in the Great Lakes region of Northern Ontario, Canada. She excelled at a wide range of sports such as volleyball, basketball, cross-country running, javelin, and skiing. At the age of 16 she developed an issue with her hip and low back while competing in a volleyball tournament, and was subsequently referred to her first chiropractor by none other than Dr. Wilding. She was so impressed with her results she decided to pursue her Bachelors of Science in Human Biology and go on to join the profession and become a Doctor of Chiropractic.
Since graduating from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 1999, Dr. Paat has been constantly pursuing continued education in a wide variety of specialties.
Children have always gravitated towards Dr. Paat in her practice, and she has always been driven to learn all she can to assist them on their path to optimal development. She dedicated several years to becoming certified in two specialties related to pediatric care and child development. Her extensive training and testing with Dr. Robert Melillo resulted in her Childhood Developmental Disorders Certification through the American College of Functional Neurology. She went on to achieve her certification with the Institute of Neuro-Physiological Psychology under Sally Goddard Blythe. Both certifications provide Dr. Paat a unique approach to learning disorders, autism spectrum, bed-wetting, dyslexia, ADHD, coordination, reading concerns and many other developmental issues that affect many school-aged children today. The combination of these two disciplines has allowed Dr. Paat to find non-invasive solutions to a great many cases of learning and behavioral disorders in children, helping them in the classroom and socially to be the best they can be. For the past several years this has been the sole focus of her practice.
